Forbes magazine has released its annual look at pop's biggest hitters and four of the top five earners in 2016 are women.
Adele has had an incredible year and embarked on her first proper world tour, but the figures are calculated from June 1 2015 to June 1 2016. Another pop princess has pipped her to the post, making more than twice as much as over the period, raking in an incredible $170milion.
so could be sitting pretty next year.

10. Diddy $62 million

Yes, the are on an indfinite break but the top-earning boy band of all time grossed over $200 million on the recent On The Road Again Tour.
1. Taylor Swift: $170 million
As well as breaking the Rolling Stones' North American touring record, the Country Pop superstar shifted millions of albums and landed millions more through deals with Keds, Diet Coke and Apple.
