Sauti Sol Visit Their Old High School, Upper Hill

Sauti Sol is one of Africa’s biggest bands right now, but like the true musicians they are, they had to remind us that they can still make beautiful music even without their instruments. This week, the Kenyan hitmakers paid a special visit to their old high school, Upper Hill School in Nairobi to thank their teachers and to inspire the youngsters.
There was also a slightly political angle to their visit. The Sauti Sol members are standing in solidarity with those who want to stop the burning of schools in Kenya. Recent protests have seen a handful of primary and secondary schools damaged and vandalized. They spoke on this and said:
““Because of ‪Upperhill‬, Sauti Sol was born. This morning we joined our former high school Upper Hill in calling for an end to the school burning menace”
While there, they also took the time to perform with the Upper Hill students and they captured a video of this wonderful acapella version of Kiluko Jana.
Even though the video was captured on a mobile phone, the beauty of the voices (how amazing are those harmonies?) still shone through.
